At long last. Sorry for the delay. I had hoped to post this Sunday but unfortunately had to whip up to New Plymouth with the family for a funeral.
So... a long time ago I promised a giveaway in celebration of 100 posts. Today's post marks 141. I've just not been able to find anything super exciting to giveaway - until Denyse released her new line through Joann's.
Up for grabs is a FQ bundle of 14 prints of the Picnic and Fairgrounds Fabric Collection (another print is on it's way). I will also be giving away another FQ bundle of some of the prints just being released here in NZ and Australia (when they arrive). So there will be 2 winners. Winner number 1 will be able to choose which bundle they'd love.
How to enter - there's a few opportunities to get more entries (6 entries total if you do all 3):
1) Leave me a comment telling me the best Mother's Day gift you've given or received.
2) Become a follower - if you aren't already - followers will get an extra 2 entries.
3) Mention the giveaway on your blog and comment telling me you have and you'll get a further 3 entries :)
***Edit - Giveaway is now closed. Thank you.***
I love this fabric! I'm so excited that Joanns is getting some nice, quality choices for the masses. You know ... me!
ReplyDeleteI love all my Mother's Days but last year my youngest son helped me in my garden all day, including shopping and carrying heavy bags of mulch. It was a fun day and he worked without complaining once. A great memory!
I'm a follower already. Love your blog and all your projects.
ReplyDeleteI did a double take when you mentioned New Plymouth, sorry you had to visit it for a funeral though! Next time you are visiting the 'Naki' perhaps we can catch up for a coffee! The best 'Mother's Day' present would have to be... just the simple things, a handmade card, freshly picked flowers, a cuppa tea in bed.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes I am a follower!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fabrics! Great giveaway! Pleasr count me in! Every year, my son gives me a bouquet of flowers. Are the most beautiful flowers in the world!
ReplyDeleteI put your giveaway on my sidebar.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if your giveaway extends to the uk but I follow on Google reader.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Mothers day gifts are the ones my children have made themselves, the cards they make at school and sneak home in their bags. This year my oldest even made me breakfast in bed (her dad had to help but the intent was there).
Mothers day isn't in May in the uk but all the best people have their birthdays in May :)
sarah.bowyer@ntlworld.com
My best Mother's Day gift was an unexpected overtime cheque from my huband's work and strict instructions from my hubby to go buy a serger :)

My best mother's day gift is my wonderful children.

ReplyDeleteVery nice giveaway, Lara! My best Mother's Day present was a clothes umbrella to dry my clothes outside. We aren't the jewelry, extravagant holiday type people and I really wanted one. I got one that year and it was a big, strong one that should last me many, many years.
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower already, Lara!
ReplyDeleteMine haven't arrived yet, so I will enter and maybe have 2 bundles! :-)
ReplyDeleteMother's Day...hmmm...the kids always come home with something interesting from school or preschool. Funny little wonky handmade creations must surely be the best kind of present.
Have been following for YEARS you know! ;-) (but my blog died of neglect, so I won't enter that way...)
ReplyDeleteA rose bush, the best gift ever! Love the fabrics.
ReplyDeleteOooh such a generous giveaway! I can't wait till the fabric arrives in stores here is Australia. I got a great Mother's Day gift last year - a pasta machine - yummy food that I can make with the help of the kids!
ReplyDeleteI follow your blog :)
ReplyDeleteWell, I'd tell you about a great Mother's Day gift if I could, but I have a shocking memory, so right now I'm drawing a blank. It will probably come to me later. I don't usually do much for my Mum except maybe dinner, but make a fuss of her birthday instead in a couple of weeks. I do always get breakfast in bed :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower :-) (or is that stalker?)
ReplyDeletePosted about it on my blog. Have a fun giveaway.
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome giveaway!

I LOVE May too! Its my birthday too (21st) & Mothers Day. My favourite Mothers Day moment happened today. its my son's first year at school and they had a Mothers Day stall at school today. As we were walking home from school he told me he just knew when he saw the gift he bought that I would love it. Gorgeous. Fab giveaway. can't wait for the fabrics to arrive in the stores.

ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower. :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Mother's Day gift that I gave to my Mom was dinner out at a steakhouse. We both enjoyed it, AND the quilts of a friend were displayed throughout the restaurant. My Mom was comfortable in her surroundings and thoroughly enjoyed herself. This was her first Mother's Day without my father so that was a blessing. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteTe best gifts are those from my kids telling me they love me :o)

ReplyDeleteI think the best mother's day gift is when you get the chores done for you, especially the vacuuming! Love the ds prints.

ReplyDeletethanks for the giveaway! Since I've only been a mom for a year the best gift I received was this year from my husband - he gave me an afternoon to get out and visit the farmers market and a craft fair.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool range of fabrics. I can see the possibilities already!
ReplyDeleteThe best gift I have ever received has been the same for the last couple of years - now the children are slightly older ... no sibling squabbles for the morning ;) (we are still working on it lasting all day, they are only 4,6,and 9!)
Happy Mum's Day! :)
Oh - and I'm a follower too!
ReplyDeleteI hope the best mother's day gift I've given is this year's—I am making scarves like these for all of the mother figures in my life (four of 'em, between my mother and my partner's mother and our respective stepmothers). They'll be late because I am a terrible planner, but they'll be awesome.
ReplyDeleteOh! And I am a new follower. Pleased to meet you!
ReplyDeleteI dont have kids so I never received a gift but I'm redoing my mom's bedroom for her this year!

Mother's Day this year was wonderful. Both my sons spent the day with us. Just spending time together was a gift!
ReplyDeleteI am a new follower to your blog. Love your background:)
ReplyDeleteBest Mother's Day gift, besides the birth of both my girls, was when my girls were still in diapers. For Mother's Day, I did not have to change ANY diapers. My hubby had to do them all. Since my oldest was not trained until she was 4, I had 4 Mother's Days of this. Loved it.
ReplyDeleteI am a new follower and happy to read all the info

This Mother's Day was quite wonderful.. it lasted the whole weekend.. I started on Saturday with a trip to the movies with my 19yo son.. then dinner at the Chinese buffet.. then Sunday all day in bed dining watching chick flicks.. LAZY!!! I havn't had a day lazy like that unless I was sick! LOL Strange.. but nice.
ReplyDeleteA couple of years ago my children gave me an iTouch for Mother's Day. I've so enjoyed having this little thing. It's not a phone, but I can check email, and it does all kinds of cool things (some of which I don't know how to do :-) Thanks for the fabulous giveaway!
ReplyDeleteMy best Mother's Day gift is any time I am able to be with my mother and my 3 children.

ReplyDeleteMy best Mother's day gift was yesterday. My guys grilled steaks for lunch, then weeded the flower beds for me and did other yard work that really needed to be done. This saves me tons of work (and I hate to garden, but, enjoy looking at the flowers). Steaks and flowers, yipee!! (and I got to watch, LOL).
ReplyDeleteMy husband bought me flowers, that is the best mother's day gift ever because before now, I wasn't allowed to have them (my cat used to destroy nice flower arrangements)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Mother's Day gift is the handprints they draw on the Mother's Day cards every year.
ReplyDeleteI blogged about your giveaway at http://salliessampler.blogspot.com/2011/05/sew-many-stitches-giveaway.html
ReplyDeleteI love flowers for Mother's Day but last year was the best yet - my son brought me a TREE!! A weeping willow tree - something I've always wanted! It's growing great down near the swamp. I named her Mathilda!

ReplyDeleteHello, this is my first visit! I love your taste in fabric. I have only had 2 Mother's Days so far. The first one was a bit of a blur but this year my husband helped my one-year-old to make a drawing around her hand and foot! Gorgeous gift that I will keep forever!! X anna (at copyqueen. co. uk)
ReplyDeleteThe best Mother's Day gifts are the one's made by hand - cards and crafts... I keep them all!

ReplyDeleteMy best present this year were the homemade decorations joyfully scrawled by my son. (And the cheerful announcement by him this morning that today --Monday-- is the second day of Mother's Day.)

My best Mother's Day gift was EQ6 given to me a few years ago. Then I got EQ7 last Mother's Day. I love just playing around with it. Great giveaway you are having.
ReplyDeleteBest Mother's Day gift? Definitely the cards. This year my brown hair was compared to chocolate and my brown eyes to foxes. I was laughing and tearing up at the same time!
ReplyDeleteLove the fabric! I'm quite proud of myself this year as I gave my mom a table runner that I quilted myself.... Just learned how so I was happy & she loves it! :)

I'm not a mum, but the best mothers day gift I ever gave was a gorgeous tree peony. My mum loves it!
ReplyDeleteI don't have the best memory in the world, and many things from 10 years ago and older have completely been purged. And now my girls are older, and generally don't even give me a gift. I'm lucky if I get a card. I'm just happy if my family is all together.

ReplyDeleteThis could have been difficult for me to answer because, I am not a mother and my Mum has been gone for quite a few years now... but this year I received a Mother's Day Card from a younger friend who I had helped when she had some problems in her family life... she said that she wanted me to know that she was thinking about me on this special day.... it was one of the nicest things anyone has said to me.
ReplyDeleteMy best mother's day present was this year when I could have some of my family around, after living interstate for 32 years and being too far away for visits. Thanks for the opportunity to enter your giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI just became one of your followers!
ReplyDeleteBest Mother's Day gift: My husband and I were headed to my mom's a few years ago with our 3 adult children who were still living at home. My oldest son was in college and not with us...well, until we pulled into a MacDonald's (why I wondered when we hadn't been long left home?). Anyway, there was my son sitting there in his truck waiting for us! He got into our vehicle and really surprised me for Mother's Day. We all continued on to my mom's. That was my favorite Mother's Day gift to have all my children with me on that day.
ReplyDeleteI guess the best Mother's day gift I ever received was my favorite necklace. It's a heart...shaped like a couple with two children on the base. I wear it all the time. It represents my beautiful family!
ReplyDeleteThank you for a lovely giveaway.

ReplyDeleteMy 13 year old son baked me a cake this year.
ReplyDeleteIt was a white cake but he added coffee instead of water - because he had heard me say that you
should add coffee to cake instead of plain water. (the part he forgot was that this was for chocolate cakes only:)) But it was delicious and meant so much that "he really does listen to me"!!!!!!
