Rolling On.

I've been whipping up these wee crayon rolls for Ollie's wee friends. I researched many tutorials online... and I've tried a few out. But I think I have nailed the best by coming up with my own. If you'd like a wee tutorial - I'll happily post my how to?

The owl print is for Ollie's wee friend who turns two next month... I made a wee calculation error to begin with but I have worked out how I'll selvage it! The other two went according to plan. I have now written my measurements down so that I don't estimate next time (hehe).

PS - I've made this my finish of the week! So why not pop over to the Sew n Tell link to the right there and check out some other posts for fantastic inspiration! And congratulate Amy for welcoming another little baby into her little family!

  1. These will make great presents Lara and as they get older they can replace the crayons with felts. I made one for Amelia for her gel pens.

  2. I'd love a wee tutorial!! Holly would adore something like this for her pencils. Actually, it would be really good for makeup brushes, too!

  5. These rollups are so cute - I made one for my granddaughter from a pattern in a magazine (I don't remember which one and don't have them here with me) but remember it was surprisingly simple. I've also seen them with a pocket on one side for a small coloring book and slots on the other for crayons or pencils - haven't tried to work out a pattern yet for that but I want to! Great work!!

  6. I would like a tutorial! That would save me the trouble of trial and error. My little girl loves hers... a little too much - it's starting to break down.

  10. I've told myself several times that I'd do something like this for our youngest two, and I still haven't. I don't know, but I'm thinking that at 12 and almost 11, I may be running out of time...

    Very cute!
